Shari Simon, LMSW is a licensed psychotherapist, adjunct professor, nonprofit leader, and public speaker. She consults with companies and agencies on diversity, equity, inclusion, and wellness initiatives. Shari is a Columbia University and Bennett College trained strategist with over fifteen years of experience.
Shari Simon's work serves to disrupt systemic injustices that disproportionately affect historically marginalized communities. At the core, her work is social justice work that requires a great deal of mindfulness, advocacy, and innovation.
Shari is a leader in the diversity, equity, and inclusion field. She is currently the professor of CUNY courses that teach about social justice, inclusion, and activism. Prior to this, she served as a workshop facilitator at Columbia School of Social Work in the Office of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. She has created affinity groups and taught workshops on social identity, privilege, and power for professionals and students.
Whether Shari is providing therapy, consulting with companies, training staff, coaching individuals, convening learning communities, or facilitating workshops, she incorporates strengths-based, anti-oppressive, and client-centered frameworks. Shari believes that there is no way to ethically support people without addressing their identity, intersectionality, leadership, and passions.
